FAQ

Just to let you know.....

  • What is a Minister?

A minister is a trained individual who will create an individual bespoke ceremony for all couples and fmailies regardless of their believe system. There are no rules to what can be in your ceremony or where it can be held. I am trained to incorporate all beliefs and rituals you would like to bring into your ceremony.

I am trained with the Irish Institute of Celebrants and is a member of the Irish Ethical Celebrants Society.

I am an interfaith minister part of the OneSpirit interfaith organisation.

  • What happens when I book ceremonies by Catherine for my ceremony?

Catherine will arrange to meet you face to face at a time and place that suits you (video call can be arranged if outside the country), the consultation will last 1.5/2hours and during this time Catherine will bring you through the various options to create your dream ceremony from readings and poems, advise on vows and ring exchanges and enhancements.

After your consultation Catherine will write and create your ceremony and send it to you for approval, then about 4 weeks before your ceremony date she will finalize the ceremony with you.

Catherine will at your venue at least 1 hour before the ceremony starts and will on hand to welcome and chat to your guests and calm any last-minute nerves.

  • Will we be legally married?

Yes I am a OneSpirit minister who is listed as a solemnizer on the HSE register.

  • What are the legal requirements to get married in Ireland?

The legal requirements are available on the HSE website.

    Here’s a breakdown for you:

When you are getting married in Ireland you must give three months notification before you marry. You must contact the registrar office (see HSE website for listings) and obtain a date and time for your intent to marry or notification appointment.

The couple will then present themselves in person to a registrar office (see HSE website for listings).

At this notification appointment the couple are issued with a Marriage Registration Form (MRF) by the registrar, this gives you the authority to get married.

You then pass this document to the HSE registered solemniser, who will witness the signing of this document in the registry office or your HSE approved chosen venue.

  • What are your fees?

My fees vary depending on what ceremony or service you require, please get in touch and I can talk you through my fee. There is no obligation to book, I like to have an informal chat with clients before a booking takes place just to ensure I'm the celebrant that meets your needs.
